Classic poffertjes made with the WaffleTastic®

Ingredients

  • 300 g patent flour 

  • A pinch of salt 

  • 600 ml whole milk 

  • 15 gr fresh yeast 

  • 2 eggs 

  • 15 gr granulated sugar 

  • 40 ml butter

Preparation

  • Mix the flour and salt and sift over a large bowl.
  • Heat the milk to lukewarm (+/- 30 °C) and dissolve the yeast in it with a whisk.
  • Make a well in the flour mixture and pour in the milk.
  • From the centre, slowly mix the flour and milk into a batter.
  • Beat the eggs and mix into the batter with a whisk until smooth.
  • Stir the granulated sugar and melted butter into the batter. Cover with plastic wrap.
  • Let the batter rise for about an hour. The batter is ready when it has doubled in volume.
  • Get the waffle iron hot and grease with oil.
  • Fill the dimples three-quarters full with the batter and cook on setting 4-5 (middle) for +/- 3 minutes until nicely golden brown.

Tips

Tip: Serve with icing sugar, blueberries or a mint leaf.
